Lucas said the school district received an anonymous tip that led to the arrests on Tuesday.
"In both cases, the school received an anonymous tip that led to arrests, and the District in cooperation with the Deer Park Police Department, responded quickly and appropriately. We give credit to the responsible citizens who placed the anonymous tips that led to these arrests," he said, quoting the written statement.
"It is unfortunate that teens bring illegal drugs to school ... Our highest priority is providing a safe learning environment for our students," the statement concluded.
