Pound schedules meeting with voters to talk about city budget

E-mail Print PDF

Deer Park residents with questions about the proposed city budget plans can voice their concerns on Saturday, July 31. Councilman Jeff Pound, who holds Position 6, is hosting a town hall-style meeting regarding the budget at Fairmont Funeral Home in Pasadena at 3 p.m.

"This is not an official city meeting," Pound said. "It's a chance for people to talk about their concerns and get some answers regarding the city budget."

The proposed 2010-11 city budget has been met with spending concerns due to a budget shortfall from industry property values. Pound said he intends to address those concerns with the voters.

Pound, who co-owns Fairmont Funeral Home, said he is inviting Deer Park voters to his facility to talk directly to one of their elected officials. Refreshments will be served and transportation will be provided to anyone who cannot make it to the funeral home on their own.

Fairmont Funeral Home is located at 6777 Fairmont in Pasadena. For more information or to schedule transportation assistance, contact the funeral home at 281-991-0575.
