Gary Don Rice, 64, born January 7, 1946 in Groesbeck, Texas to the union of Don and Rubye Rice, passed away on March 30, 2010 with his loving family at his side.

Gary was retired from Oxy Vinyls where he was in rail logistics and was currently employed by Vertex Energy in Clear Lake.

Gary served his country proudly during the Vietnam War in the Army Infantry Division.
Gary is survived by his parents, and his loving wife of 43 years, Carol; a daughter, Heather Taylor and husband Ryan of Deer Park; a son, Michael Rice and wife Tammi of Pasadena; grandchildren, Caitlin, Paige, Matilda, Isaiah, and a "new baby" on the way. Gary is also survived by brother, David Rice and wife Karen; mother-in-law Elizabeth Bull; special niece Susan Murphy and family, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family and friends, including their loving church family at Gateway Community Church.

Generation One is a non-denominational ministry located in the Third Ward of Houston and is committed to the spiritual growth and physical rebuilding of the impoverished areas of the Third Ward.

A celebration of Gary's life will be Friday, April 2, 2010 at 3:00 PM at Gateway Community Church at 760 Clear Lake City Blvd. in Webster, Texas.
