Elva was born April 1930 to William and Bernie Nabors of Nacogdoches, TX. Elva grew up with her mother and grandparents and later her stepdad. Upon graduating from high school, she moved to Liberty, TX where she worked at SW Bell as a telephone operator.
In 1951, she met the love of her life at a skating rink in Liberty, TX. She married Bill Bitner of Lovely, TX the following year. They spent 62 wonderful years together until Bill passed.
Elva she spent most of her married life caring for her family whom she loved unconditionally. She raised three children and one sister. She loved to cook, travel and be surrounded by family and friends. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed going on cruises and travel the U.S. She also loved to go dancing every Saturday night with Bill and their friends.
She was the peacekeeper in our family and extended family. She never met a stranger, and when she did, she would befriend them immediately. She was the proudest mother and most honest and loving person you could ever meet. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Elva is preceded in death by her husband Bill, her Mother, Father and brother.
She is survived by her three children, Barbara Ballard of Austin, Kenneth Bitner of Deer Park, and Billie Cadle of Austin; son-in-laws Rick Ballard and Keith Cadle; 4 grandchildren: Kristin Ekberg, Courtney Ballard, Cory Cadle, and Casey Cadle; and one great grandson, Jackson Lovelidge.
