fieldsDonald RV Fields, 67, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 12, 2017. He leaves this world to join the after life to be greeted by his Father, Henry R.V. Fields, Mother, Della Faye Brinkley Fields, and his youngest Daughter, Kimberlee Nicole Fields Stringer.
Don was born on September 17, 1949, in Galveston, Texas at St. Mary’s Hospital. He and his family grew up in Dickinson, Texas. Don graduated from Dickinson High School in 1968. In high school Don was very active in sports, which included football, baseball, and running track. After high school, Don proceeded to join the police academy and began his career in Seabrook, Texas and then moved to La Porte, Texas. Don served and protected his community bravely and proudly for 38 years. Don moved up in ranks and retired as a Sergeant in 2007, for which he held this position for over 30 years. To his family and to many others, he was their hero. After his retirement, Don and his wife, Carla, enjoyed traveling and camping with their grandchildren in their motor home. Don had a very big and giving heart and opened up his home and heart to many people that were in need through out the years. Don is survived by a large family that includes the love of his life, his wife of 42 years, Carla Dziubanek Fields; daughter, Eletha Fields; son, Christopher Fields and his wife Stacey, his sister Brenda Petru and her husband Larry. Don also leaves behind four grandchildren, Shelbee and Sydnee Stringer, and Logan and Christyn Fields. Don’s father and mother in-law: Richard and Alice Dziubanek; sister-in-law, Sheree Kinghorn; brother and sister in-laws, Robert and Deona Dziubanek and Russel and Gail Dziubanek. Nephews and Neice include: Austin Kinghorn and his wife Désirée, Rusty Dziubanek, Jennifer Dziubanek and husband Jeremy Scott, Greg Petru and his wife Stephanie, Richard Petru and his wife Jenny, and Tim Petru and his wife Miriam. Don also leaves many great nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends behind. Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM Friday March 17 at First United Methodist Church, 9601 W. Fairmont Pkwy, La Porte, TX. Interment LaPorte Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday at the Church. In Lieu of flowers family is asking for donations to be made to the 100 Club of Houston at the in memory of Donald RV Fields. Deer Park Funeral Directors, 281-476-4693.
