4476452Shirley Lee Dahn Coker passed away Sunday morning December 10th after a brief illness.
She died at CHI St. Luke’s hospital at the age of 86. Born in McAlester, OK On July 12, 1931, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Lloyt Landes, husband of 20 years Robert W. Dahn, son Richard M. Dahn, husband E.G. Coker of 13 years. She was survived by her son Robert T. Dahn and wife June, son James S. Dahn and wife Ann, brother Robert K. Landes and wife Judy, seven grandchildren and spouses and twelve great grandchildren. Shirley lived a full life. If you knew her, you would know that she was a very beautiful woman from the inside out. She was a very talented woman. She loved to craft and paint. She was a wonderful cook and loved to cook for other people. She was an amazing quilter and seamstress which is evident in all her handiwork. She loved nature and the beauty of God’s creation. She loved her dog, Libby. There was always a song on her heart and a smile on her face. Through the years Shirley worked in many secretarial positions helping provide for her family. She ended her career in 1993 where she retired working as a secretary for the Corby Robertson family after her son died. Her love for others knew no limit. A time that she spoke of often was when she served in a Korean church in the early 80s. She was involved in the children’s ministry and she loved the children as if they were her own. As of late, Shirley was a member at Faithbridge church and was very involved with the senior citizen ministry. She will probably be remembered most for her sincere love for all who crossed her path. She lived a life only one could aspire to live by constantly putting other’s needs before her own. She knew no stranger. Her door was always open to anyone who needed a listening ear. Shirley was a prayer warrior and daily went to the Lord, lifting up so many in prayer. There was no doubt that she loved Jesus more than anyone or anything in this world. We will continue to honor her by sharing our sweet memories of her. In loving memory of Shirley Coker, you will be deeply missed by all who were touched by your love and kindness. Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Monday, December 18 at Faithbridge Church, 4711 Center Street, Deer Park, Texas 77536.
