Harold Joseph Hargus

Harold Joseph Hargus, 85, was born in New Waverly, TX on February 23, 1932, to James Earl Hargus and Verna Victoria Zabava. He made the transition from his struggles in this life into a life of eternal rest and peace with his Savior on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at 11:02 pm.
Harold was employed at South Texas National Bank in 1950 when he was drafted into the Air Force. He went to basic training at Langley AFB in Virginia, then off to Korea where he was in the 136th Fighter Bomber Squadron, proudly serving during the Korean Conflict. He was also stationed at the Itazuke AFB in Japan.
He enjoyed playing softball, bowling, being a member of the Lions Club, watching and playing golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Pat Sommerfield (Mike); sons, Wendell Hargus (Jennifer), Wayne Hargus (Diana), Derrick Hargus (Cyndi), & Randy Broadway (Todd Peck); grandchildren, Paul Sommerfield (Tina), Carrie Mortellaro (Chuck), Chelsea Jones (Kyle), Bethani Smith (Zach), Drew Hargus (Corey), and Kayanna Hargus; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, February 15, 2018 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Grand View Funeral Home, 8501 Spencer Hwy, Pasadena, TX 77505. A Celebration of his Life to follow at 3:00pm in the Chapel of Grand View Funeral Home. Interment will be at the Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
