Deer boys soccer victorious on senior night

The Deer Park boys soccer team ended its regular season on a winning note with a 4-0 victory over Beaumont West Brook on senior night. David Garcia, Luis Gutierrez Martinez, Anthony Cantu and Jimmy Yanez tallied the Deer goals. Deer Park’s first playoff opponent and location will be announced soon.

MVP George leads Lady Deer on all-district teams

Coming off a 20-win season and a share of the district title, several members of the Lady Deer basketball team earned post season accolades. Senior forward Jaya George was named MVP of 22-6A while six other teammates were named all-district. Eleven players were also named Academic All-District.

Ikpe, Bradshaw lead Deer in postseason honors

The Deer Park boys basketball team is well represented on the year’s all-district teams. Six players total earned all-district honors. The varsity team finished the season with a 21-13 record and 6-8 in district play. The Deer were one of three 22-6A teams to win 20 games this season.

Deer Park shuts out Tuesday opposition

The Lady Deer softball team opened its district season Tuesday with a 13-0 win over South Houston in five innings. Winning pitcher Madison Nelson struck out eight and retired 14 of the 15 batters she faced in a no-hit effort. Meanwhile, the boys soccer team defeated Pasadena 2-0 on the road while the Lady Deer soccer team lit up the scoreboard for an 8-0 win at home over Pasadena.
