Tiffany Amber Park off X Street an Brooke Amber Circle recently reopened after about a month of renovations. Deer Park Mayor Jerry Mouton, members of council and state representatives Mary Ann Perez and Briscoe Cain were on hand for the ceremony.

The 1.1 acre park features a treehouse-inspired play area with slides, swings and other activities as well as a walking trail that circles the park land.

“This park is a little more compact, but we’ve still added a lot of activities and a picnic area. We’ve only had the park open for a few weeks and already the neighbors are telling us it is getting a lot of neighborhood traffic and brought the neighborhood together,” said Jacob Zuniga, parks supervisor. “We do these types of projects for that reason.”

Perez (D-144) complemented the mayor and council for their attention to quality of life in the city of Deer Park.

“Quality of life is important to the city. They have a vision and do a terrific job of making sure everything is safe and beautiful,” she said.

Cain (R-128), who grew up in Deer Park, said the quality of life is why people move to and stay in Deer Park.

“It’s exciting to see the changes that are being made for my kids. I certainly enjoyed the parks while growing up,” he said.
