Deer Park will soon be home to Sub Zero Nitrogen Ice Cream at 9315 Spencer Hwy. (next to the H-E-B gas station). It only takes a minute for a milky mixture to meld into ice cream beneath a cloud of frigid nitrogen "smoke." Liquid nitrogen ice cream technology can quickly freeze an ice cream base with any add-ins, turning a liquid into a solid as if by magic (kids love it). The texture of this ice cream is denser, harder and fresher, making it an intriguing twist on traditional frozen treats. Look for them to open in December.

Snow House is now open at 8361 Spencer Highway (in the same retail center as Ralston’s Liquor and Grand Buffet Chinese; corner of Spencer Hwy. and Luella). They feature delicious desserts, teas, wings, fries, smoothies, yogurt and more.

YoYo’s Chinese Restaurant is now open at 9315 Spencer Highway (next door to MOD Pizza and near H-E-B’s fuel station).

Lucy’s Dog House is now open at 302 W. Pasadena Blvd. in Deer Park. Their August special is 10% off grooming and $5 off nail grinding. They also have boarding services and pet daycare. If you are busy, try “Lucy’s Limo Service” and let them give your pet a ride. Call them at 832-429-3880, and find more specials on their Facebook page.

Nitro Cycles recently moved from its original Baytown location to 9515 Spencer Hwy. (near Underwood). The owner is La Porte native, Richard Kimes. Nitro features a full-service motorcycle repair shop offering tires, fluids, and all preventative maintenance work at reasonable rates. They have Harley Davidson-certified technicians, offer customizations and upgrades, and can arrange for towing if needed. Find them on Facebook or call them at 281-838-8045.
