Seminoles honor DP first responders

In 2017, the Deer Park Seminoles football team was able to carry on their annual tradition of giving back to the local community. Last season, the Seminoles hosted a “Seminole Strong” event where the team honored local first responders that serve the local community each day and especially during Hurricane Harvey.

During this event, the Seminoles had the opportunity to also bring awareness to two causes affecting two Deer Park police officers. Officer Brandon William’s daughter was diagnosed with Sickle Cell Anemia and Officer Veronika Minor’s son was diagnosed with Hydrocephalus. Not only did the Seminoles help bring awareness to these conditions but they also conducted fundraisers to help support these two officers and their families.

Earlier this month, representatives from the Seminoles presented Officer Williams and Officer Minor with the proceeds of the fundraisers and thanked them for their service to the Deer Park community.

Deer Park’s first responders are a vital part of our community and the Deer Park Seminoles were honored to have the opportunity to show their gratitude by bringing awareness to two causes that affect two special children, and by raising money to help support two of our local officers.
