The Art Park Players will sweep patrons away to a communal residence in a New England city, where four mentally handicapped men live under the supervision of an earnest, but increasingly "burned out" young social worker named Jack. Mingled with often-funny scenes from the daily lives of Arnold, Norman, Lucien and Barry, are moments of great poignancy when, with touching effectiveness, we are reminded that the handicapped, like the rest of us, want only to love and laugh and find meaning in the brief time we are given on this earth.
The Boys Next Door features the talents of Alec Trevino, Fred White, Rusty Groos, Ryan Baker, Chris Piper, Don Piper, Cathy Carroll, Cheryl Westmoreland, Debbie Reno and Bob Stahl under the direction of Larry Arnhold with technical direction by Joe Piper.
The dinner theatre production will run at the Theater/Courts Building at 1302 Center St. on Feb. 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, March 1 and 2; with dinner beginning at 7 p.m. and show at 8 p.m. for evening performances and dinner at 1 p.m. and show at 2 p.m. for matinees. Tickets can be reserved by calling Diane Manning with the Art Park Players Box Office at 281-794-2448.
