Mayor, council incumbents reelected to seats

Deer Park voters reelected all four incumbents in this year’s municipal elections. Mayor Jerry Mouton fended off two challengers while Councilmembers Sherry Garrison, Thane Harrison and Tommy Ginn each ran unopposed.

Photo by Bobby Vasquez.All four incumbents running for reelection to Deer Park City Council won their respective races after Saturday’s municipal elections.

Deer Park Mayor Jerry Mouton earned his third term as mayor, garnering 73 percent of the vote. Betty Lemley took in 26 percent of the total vote while Eddie Dove grabbed 1 percent.

Councilmembers Sherry Garrison, Thane Harrison and Tommy Ginn all ran unopposed and held Council seats 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Voters also elected Erica Davis Rouse to Position 1 of the San Jacinto College Board of Trustees. Rouse defeated Rick Guerrero for the seat, vacated by Brad Hance who chose not to seek reelection. Long time Trustee Ruede Wheeler ran unopposed for the Position 2 seat.
