Cobb named TLERA regional director

Kathy CobbCOBBDeer Park Police Department Records Supervisor Kathy Cobb was recently named the Director for the southeast region of the Texas Law Enforcement Records Association (TLERA).

The mission of TLERA is to provide Texas Police Records personnel with relevant training and networking opportunities to assist our local agencies in providing accurate data for analysis, statistical reporting and public information.

Cobb, who has been with DPPD for more than 15 years, was voted in by members of the southeast region of TLERA, which includes members from law enforcement agencies in Baytown, Sugar Land, Fort Bend County, League City, Kemah, Houston, Seabrook, Texas City, Pearland, Dickinson, Webster, Montgomery County, UH, Shenandoah, Pasadena, La Porte, Fort Bend ISD, Lakeview and Bellaire.

Her term as SE region TLERA Director will last two years. She will be officially inducted on Aug. 4.

“The SE region is going to benefit greatly from [Cobb’s] knowledge, and the TLERA directors will appreciate [her] strong work ethic and dedication to both the law enforcement and records management professions,” said Michelle Manukonda, the current SE Region TLERA Director.

In her time with DPPD, Cobb worked in emergency communications for over 12 years and served as a Communications Training Officer for approximately 10 years. She participated in the the Deer Park Police Department’s Mentorship Program from 2013-14 and was promoted to Records Supervisor in July 2014.

“I would not be able to do what I do without the hard work and support of the staff of the Records Unit,” Cobb said. “These employees exemplify what it means to be a public servant and I am so very proud to work with them.”
