2018's first council agenda set for tonight

Deer Park City Council will host 2018’s first regularly scheduled workshop and agenda meeting Tuesday evening in Council Chambers at City Hall. The workshop starts at 6:45 p.m., followed by the regular agenda at 7:30 p.m. City Hall is located at 710 E. San Augustine.

City Council will begin its first scheduled workshop of 2018 with an executive session at 6:45 p.m. When council returns to the dais, it will hear a report from the city’s EMS billing company and the quarterly financial report.

The regular meeting, which begins at 7:30 p.m., will open with a joint public hearing on the request of the city of Deer Park to amend the Code of Ordinance Appendix A- Zoning, Section 14.02 to allow Heliports or Helistops as an accessory use for medical facilities in the General Commercial Zoning District.

Council will take action on the results of this hearing later in the meeting.

During the regular meeting, council will also take action on the purchase of field lighting and installation and shade structures for the soccer development and girls softball complex.

Also on the agenda is action on a resolution to seek a STEP Traffic Enforcement grant; a recommendation from the Planning and Zoning Commission and a proposed ordinance on the request of Sanwood Investments for a Specific Use Permit to construct a bulk warehouse at 4600 Underwood Rd.; and change orders to the contract with South Pools for the Dow Park Pavilion Project.

In other business, council will also take action on an ordinance granting a pipeline franchise to FLST LLC for a 16-inch Ethane Pipeline; amendments to the budget; the replacement of hydraulic hoses on a public works bucket truck; and the purchase of materials and installation to complete the Dow Park Pavilion and Improvement Project.
