The City of Deer Park is advising drivers of three road closures on the far north end of the city. Later this week, Union Pacific Railroad is scheduled to lay new rail lines at Center, Ivy and Robin streets prompting the closures.

Deer Park drivers are advised that the three railway intersections at Center Street, Ivy Street and Robin Street will be closed later this week to allow Union Pacific Railroad to lay new rail.

The crossings will be closed on Thursday, Jan. 11 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. and again beginning Saturday, Jan. 13 at 6 a.m. through Sunday, Jan. 14 at 6 p.m.

To avoid the closed intersections, drivers entering Deer Park from the west are encouraged to take the “Deer Park” exit from State Highway 225. East Boulevard and Independence Parkway will be available for drivers crossing the railroad tracks east of the closures.

Signage detailing available detour routes will be posted at each intersection.
