The San Jacinto College Foundation is auctioning off a 1972 Nova, with proceeds benefiting student scholarships and program support.
John Phelps, longtime San Jacinto College Foundation supporter and Pasadena resident, donated the antique car to the Foundation. The minimum bid is $18,000, and the auction is open until Thursday, March 2 at 10 a.m.
“We are extremely appreciative of this donation,” said San Jacinto College Foundation Executive Director Ruth Keenan. “We know this money will go to good use by supporting students who need extra financial help to attend college. The money raised from this auction will also benefit our outstanding technical and academic programs as they continue to turn out graduates who are making a difference right here in our community.”
Powering this classic Nova is a Crate 502 Big Block—4 speed manual transmission with a Hurst Shifter. The interior is in very good condition and includes the original AM radio, front and back seat belts and bench front seats. The exterior is painted a pewter silver with a black vinyl interior. There is no rust is on the car, and the odometer mileage reads 63,864.
