SJC, Legacy Community Health to host cervical wellness presentation

January is Cervical Health Awareness Month, and San Jacinto College is partnering with Legacy Community Health to provide information on how to prevent a human papillomavirus infection and cervical cancer through regular checkups.

According to the National Cervical Cancer Coalition, every year, nearly 13,000 women in the United States receive a cervical cancer diagnosis. Legacy Community Health and the College’s Community Education Center will host a free Well Woman Workshop to provide information about vaccinations and cervical cancer screenings. Refreshments and giveaways will be available. The event is from noon to 1 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 31, in Central Campus’ Interactive Learning Center, room C-1.108.
