College Park earns H-GAC recognition for innovation

A Deer Park parkland has was recognized for its innovative design. College Park, located on College Park Drive earned special recognition for projects under $500,000 from the Houston-Galveston Area Council. The award commended the integration of an remote controlled rock crawler course in the existing park.

Every year groups of volunteer medical professionals led by Rotarians converge on the small city of Guerrero in Mexico to provide eye care and facial repair procedures to underprivileged individuals. As part of the Deer Park Rotary Club’s international projects, the club gives and participates in the Crystal Foundation, an organization dedicated to delivering care to the impoverished town.

Council celebrates Malloy's 101st birthday

At its Tuesday meeting, Deer Park City Council and Mayor Jerry Mouton provided a proclamation honoring resident Bernard Malloy for his 101st birthday.

Malloy, a Pennsylvania native, was the owner and operator of Sparky's Cleaners, a Center Street fixture for years. He was joined at the meeting by family members for the occasion.
