Deer Park City Council and staff honored retiring City Secretary Sandra Watkins at a special ceremony during Tuesday’s meeting. Watkins announced her retirement earlier this month as she battles an illness. Although she said she is retiring sooner than she wanted, she is grateful to have worked for the city.

Deer Park City Council’s next regular workshop and meeting is scheduled for Feb. 21 at City Hall, 710 E. San Augustine. During the meeting, Mayor Jerry Mouton, City Council and the city will honor retiring City Secretary Sandra Watkins for her service. The workshop begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the regular meeting at 7:30 p.m.

According to organizers of Deer Park High School Project Graduation 2017, less than half of the 299 tickets for next weekend’s Senior Serve event have been sold.
